NOTES
The Athena-class was developed in the late 2370s as a successor to the aging
Norway-class.

Like its predecessor, the Athena is a vessel geared more toward science and diplomacy,
often used to host multi-party talks and science conferences on a reasonably large scale.
Still, Starfleet made absolutely certain the vessel could hold its own in battle.

During the Elorg war in the middle 2390s the Athena-class served with distinction, with the
USS Athena serving as Admiral William Grayson's flagship.
