| Starfleet knows very little about the Sevlas Class. It is a small, highly maneuverable Phobian craft that is possibly an inorganic descendant of Species 8472's vastly superior bioship. The Selvas Class was likely developed within the past few decades, a replacement for the incredibly aged Sal'torin Class Frigate that served the Phobians during their conflict with the Al-Bhed some 300,000 years ago. It is possible the Phobians developed other starships since the Al-Bhed War, including the 8472 bioship, but, aside from the bioship, none of these classes have been observed. Despite its size, the Selvas Class is surprisingly powerful. Though the Phobians wisely chose to avoid the inorganic technology that led to the creation of Species 8472, the Selvas Class' energy weapons and parametallic hull are comparable to a Starfleet vessel twice the size. However, due to their complex nature, Starfleet believes the Phobians possess only a few hundred of these starships. |
