The Ka'Tula System was annexed by the Dominion in 2373. It was annexed by the
Romulans the following year and remained under Romulan control until the
Dominion War concluded in 2375. The Ka'Tula System remained a strategic part of
Federation into 2380s, as tensions with the Romulans remained high. ("Roulette"
[TFF]). In 2395, the Ka'Tula System was thrust into the front lines of the conflict
with the Elorg. ("Beginnings" [TFF]). It was annexed briefly in 2396/2397 and
remained a hotbed of political activity until the war's conclusion in 2400. ("Where

The Ka'Tula System is a planetary
star system located on the edge
of the Alteran Expanse in the
Kilka Sector. It has ten planets,
and four of them have been
colonized by the Ka'Tulan
species.
The Ka'Tula star is a Class G2
main sequence star. It formed
approximately 5.4 billion years
ago and will eventually evolve
into a red giant in another 5
billion years.
The primary planet in the
Ka'Tula System is Aska, better
known as Ka'Tula Prime. It has a
native population of 3.7 billion
and is a prominent member of
the United Federation of Planets.
The Ka'Tula System is also home
to Lyrata, a gas giant with 157
moons; and Diadem, the massive
tenth planet that lurks on the
fringe of the system. It accounts
for nearly 99% of all planetary
matter in the system (and is so
large that an accurate size
comparison cannot be made on
this page). Diadem's orbit is
perilously close to that of
Flanoir, and gravitational forces
