NOTES |
With the K'Tinga Class at the end of its life cycle, and the Vor'cha class nearing its end, the Klingon Empire was in dire need of a suitable replacement. Thus, in the early 2390's, the High Council authorized the development of the Kron Class. Bolstered by the lingering Elorg War, the design process was swift, and the first Kron Class vessel was commissioned in early 2400. The Kron Class is a mid-sized attack cruiser with a highly impressive armament, including two massive pulse disruptor canons and eight standard disruptor banks. Additionally, the Kron Class is equipped with six triple fire quantum torpedo tubes; it is believed the Klingons will eventually upgrade these tubes to transphasic torpedoes or an equivalent. Unlike its predecessors, the Kron Class is also highly maneuverable and very fast, making it ideal for quick raids and skirmishes. |
